About the Project

The new Britannia Mills footbridge and cycleway has officially opened, providing a lasting benefit for the Long Eaton community.

With construction beginning in January 2025 and finishing ahead of schedule, the new crossing creates a direct connection between the Britannia Mills development and the surrounding area, reducing residents’ journey across the canal by around half a mile.

Working closely with stakeholders, our Birmingham team managed a phased construction programme before overseeing a single-phase handover to minimise disruption to the public. We also coordinated the surveys, investigations and design development required to support the planning process.
