About The Project
Coreus have been appointed to deliver the creation of a net zero roadmap for the trust, marking a significant step towards achieving their sustainability goals. The trust’s decision to pursue net zero carbon ahead of legislative requirements demonstrates their leadership and proactive stance on sustainability. Coreus Sustainability’s expertise and guidance is supporting the trust in achieving their goals.
This strategic initiative encompasses three key stages:
1 – Estates Decarbonisation Strategy:
Coreus undertook an overarching decarbonisation strategy aimed at decarbonising the trust’s entire estate. This involves analysing current existing decarbonisation reports and rationalising their recommendations – helping to prioritise estates team efforts and resources.
2 – Carbon Baselining Exercise:
Coreus are also conducting a thorough carbon baselining exercise to establish a clear understanding of the current carbon emissions profile. This involves collecting and analysing data related to all three scopes (1, 2 and 3) including but not limited to considering; energy consumption, transportation, waste management, and other relevant factors contributing to carbon emissions.
3 – Net Zero Roadmap:
Building upon the findings of the carbon baselining exercise, Coreus will develop a roadmap outlining the steps and milestones required to achieve net zero carbon emissions. This roadmap will include a strategic timeline, actionable targets, and recommended measures to progressively reduce and offset carbon emissions across the trust’s estate. By working closely with the trust’s stakeholders, including leadership, staff, and other relevant parties, Coreus will ensure that the decarbonisation strategy aligns with the trust’s aspirations and priorities.
