What we did
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Services is a major emergency services organisation in the South West, with an estate of circa 74 sites.
We were commissioned to undertake a decarbonisation study of their estate to determine their current building stock’s energy performance, and what is required to achieve their net-zero goal by 2030. The study involved data collection, site surveys to assess building condition and fabric build-up, analysis of energy consumption against benchmarks, and a cost-benefit analysis outlining the best value-for-money solutions. From the findings of the study, the DSFRS are looking to implement the suggested solutions across their estate, as well as, beginning further investigations to understand how occupants are using the buildings and what controls and BMS systems are needed to enhance energy reduction.
