“Y Storfa will redevelop the former BHS and Miss Selfridge stores in Swansea into a new community hub for Swansea Council’s front-line services in addition to providing a new base for the West Glamorgan Archive Service and a range of other services.

About the Project

The project aims to bring Swansea City Council services into the heart of the city. Regenerating two of the derelict department stores into a new community hub, named Y Storfa (The Store) to allow much needed council services to be accessed by members of the public.

 

Key front of house council services such as Revenue and Benefits, Housing Options, Princes Trust and Libraries to name a few will be housed within Y Storfa. The project will also house the West Glamorgan Archive and South Wales Miners Library collections.

Project Highlights:

  • The detailed pre-construction design phase, including the archive requirements and associated fire engineering, took significant time, so reaching this milestone and commencing construction was a major achievement
