Royal Clarence Hotel

Located in the heart of the city, the iconic Grade II Listed Royal Clarence Hotel is a landmark of significant historical and cultural importance to the people of Exeter. Over the last 12 months, we have been carefully working with the expert multi-disciplinary design team, Historic England and Exeter City Council, holding detailed consultations and conservation talks. We are excited to now be at a point where we can share the proposals for the Community Consultation launch, which include a collection of 23 apartments, a large restaurant, a pub to replace the Well House and two function rooms. These plans will help restore the clarence to its former glory while bringing “a new lease of life” to Exeter’s cathedral yard.
