What we did
An example of where this collaboration has worked particularly efficiently is at The Somerset Digital Innovation Centre. A state-of-the-art facility in Taunton, designed to support collaboration and innovation in the digital economy. Totalling over 2,500 sqm, the centre comprises 4-storeys that offer high-quality managed offices and workspaces plus a café and reception for local start-ups and SMEs. The project was designed to align with the council’s ESG goals and had a requirement of BREEAM Excellent. Throughout the design, Coreus were actively involved to ensure environmental impact reduction strategies were considered and implemented. The design included Solar PV, sanitaryware that reduces water consumption as a 34.76% against the baseline, energy efficient heating and cooling, a number of wellbeing considerations such as indoor air quality and thermal comfort, and an improvement in the Biodiversity Net Gain. These elements of integrated sustainable design were all successfully implemented into the construction of the building and have allowed the development to achieve a BREEAM score of 76.3% (Excellent).
