About the Project
Coreus were appointed by University of Plymouth in March 2020 to complete the RIBA 4 design of the Scott Car Park waste management facility.
We brought a team together to submit a planning application to the LPA which formed part of the wider campus development plans. The works involved the creation of a new maintenance building, installation of compactor bases, relocation of historic pre-fab units, installation of fencing and new campus screening. This also involved the management and coordination of 2 design teams under a combined planning application. Whilst this project isn’t significant in value, it was strategically important for the University’s wider masterplan and to Coreus it represents a demonstration of our ability to bring unique and cost effective solutions to our clients. We worked closely with the Estates team to procure the project under a Construction Management route utilising our sister company, C Squared. We mobilised the Contractors
quickly to complete the noisy groundworks during the summer, saving 10% on the budget in the process.
