Senior Sustainability Consultant, Exeter
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
You will be delivering sustainability services to a range of clients within the construction sector, including energy assessments, dynamic simulation modelling, and whole-life carbon assessments.
You will be responsible for the processes required to deliver these services across a broad range of construction projects, and for internal continuous improvement across these service lines, supporting Coreus in being exceptional in everything we do.

Essential:
- Accredited energy assessor across OCDEA, NDEA (Level 4, as a minimum)
- Experience modelling buildings in IES or similar equivalent dynamic simulation software
- Experience with additional building physics calculations, e.g thermal bridging, daylighting, thermal comfort and overheating
- Experience with whole-life carbon assessments
- Strong knowledge of construction methods and processes, with familiarity with the drivers for sustainability in the built environment
- Entrepreneurial spirit, with an openness to innovation and finding solutions to complex problems
- Good team spirit, with a positive attitude to supporting other team members and appreciation for collective success.
- Excellent data and analytical skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
Desirable:
- Familiarity with BREEAM processes and credit areas
- Previous experience managing individuals, and developing excellent consultants
- Experience delivering heat decarbonisation plans for large estate owners
- Strong knowledge of M&E systems for both new build and existing buildings

Assistant Cost Consultant, Exeter
Responsibilities:

Project Delivery
- Ensure all tasks undertaken on your assigned projects are delivered in line with quality procedures and processes.
- Undertake all Assistant Cost Consultant duties as necessary.
- Work within established procedures to undertake tasks relating to the cost control of projects. Review financial information in order to identify any anomalies or discrepancies to ensure management has access to up-to-date and accurate information.
- Individually contribute to a range of professional cost management assignments.
- Interpret data and prepare supporting documentation such as schedules, feasibility studies and cost reports, making straightforward recommendations to support senior colleagues in their decision-making process.
- Communicate and highlight project process compliance issues to cost managers.
- Complete complex, professional level tasks as requested by colleagues, prioritising case load and interpreting established policies in order to effectively support the quantity surveying function.
- Liaise with stakeholders from across the business to provide specialist advisory support to internal clients, acting as a focal point for operational project queries and ensure that there is alignment between policy and operational practice.

Senior Building Surveyor, Bristol
Responsibilities:
Leadership and Continual Professional Development
- Actively encourage and support the regional Building Surveying team to achieve and exceed their income and performance targets.
- Support the Regional Director to monitor and report performance against agreed targets for the Building Surveying Team.
- Advise the Regional Directors on developments within the Construction Industry.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to other members of the building surveying team to achieve their required CPD and obtain/maintain their professional body status.
- Support the Regional Directors in their reporting to the Operations Board and to maintain a “one team” approach across all regions.
Business development
- Work closely with the Regional Directors in driving the business growth of the Regional Team(s) to achieve and exceed the targets within the 1yr and 5yr Business Plans.
- Support the Regional Director of Operations to produce a clear Sector Based Business Development Strategy’s for the Regional Team(s).
- Promote the cross-selling of services across the whole business group
- Network with the leading players in the Building Surveying Sphere at a Local Level.
- Identify and report to the Regional Director potential new work leads
- Play an active role in bid preparation and writing.
- Provide building surveying fee proposals to the Regional Director for approval.
- Support the Enabling Services Director in Marketing Opportunities.
- Manage client relationships of designated clients.

Commission Delivery
- Play an active role in developing and maintaining quality building surveying procedures, processes and templates for the delivery of commissions across all regions.
- Ensure all assigned commissions are delivered in line with quality procedures and processes.
- Deliver the following building surveying services:
- Building Surveys – including Dilapidations, Condition and Measured
- Building defects analysis and advice
- Party Wall Consents
- Compiling and Management of Planned Maintenance Programmes
- Property Maintenance Management
- Valuation of works for insurance purposes
- Prepare preliminary estimates, cost plans, feasibility studies including cost in use and whole life costing
- Design and Specification of Minor Works Projects
- Project and Cost Management of Minor Works
- Contract Administration
- Advisory Services on items including; Fire Compartmentation, Planning Applications, Accessibility issues, building regs, UAT, etc.
- Assess competitive tenders received, making recommendations and reporting accordingly
- Instructing on the preservation/conservation of historic buildings
- Advising on energy efficiency, environmental impact and sustainable construction
